Bits about Tim's

If you live in Canada (or some parts of the US) you will be familiar with Tim Horton's. For those who aren't, it is a very popular Canadian coffee-shop chain due to its fresh products and very affordable prices (compared to places like Second Cup, Timothy's or Starbucks).

That said, alot of us Canadians have grown to be fond of some of their items like Chocolate Dip donuts, timbits (little balls made from donut dough) and dutchies.

So here are a few interesting nutritional facts that I learned about some of them:
- Chocolate Dip donuts, despite being larger, fluffier, and generally fresher than their chocolate-glazed counterparts, are actually 2/3rds of the calories (230 vs 350)
- eating a dozen timbits (which I am sure many of us have single-handedly accomplished before) brings you very close to a 1000 calories (based on chocolate glazed). That is already around half of the total recommended amount of calories for an average adult (1800 for females, 2300 for males).
- a cheese croissant, though not too bad on calories (240), delivers a whopping 12 gm of fat. This is roughly quarter of the total grams of fat an adult should be consuming per day. This is a massive amount considering that we're dealing with a breakfast item that doesn't even contain any form of meat.

Shocking how easily one can completely blow his diet all outta the water by simply hanging with a few friends at Timmy's for a (tim)bit.
